News from the Board

At the last Association General Meeting on 27th September 2011 members elected a new Board. The new Board now consists of seven active members: Ursula Fuentes, Kevin Lynch, Ruth Wishart, Alice Lagaay, Nora Schultz, Rachel West and Deidre Berger. An eighth position (the Treasurer) is still to be filled and we kindly ask association members interested in this post to please come forward.

The Board has set to work with lots of enthusiasm and verve. Whilst together we share responsibility for all the actions and decisions of the board, in order to function most effectively we have distributed central roles amongst ourselves as follows:

Ursula Fuentes is Chair of the Board and has the overall responsibility for the board and strategic planning, as well as relations with Pfefferwerk and legal matters such as the charter of the association.

Kevin Lynch is Deputy Chair person and in charge of financial planning, fundraising, and cooperations with Pfefferwerk. He will also be Acting Treasurer until a new person is found.

Ruth Wishart is nominated by the board as the Gremium member (to be confirmed by the association at the next meeting) and responsible for overseeing Hort management.

Alice Lagaay is in charge of internal communications between Association members and between
Association and School.

Nora Schultz is chief of external communications and will be working closely with the Public Relations Group.

Rachel West is the main contact person for issues relating to Building and Garden Development.

Deidre Berger’s main area of work will be school development and helping to clarify structures and channels of communication between Association, Pfefferwerk and School.

Important dates for all Association members (Get out those diaries!!!):
Association meetings will be held on:
13th December 2011, 19h30 at school;
13th March 2012, 19h30 at school;
22nd May 2012, 19h30 at school (Association General Meeting)

Finally, tell your friends and acquaintances: there will be an Information Evening for Prospective Parents (complete with wine-and-cheese!) on 23rd FEBRUARY 2012 (all welcome, more info in due course).
